Clay Artwork

It's not very often that we work with clay in school. Last month, however our K-8 students did create various pieces. It was wonderful to watch their creativity, and how much they enjoyed this project. Each student made a few things: bowls, cups, garden ornaments, vases.... Some of these pieces will become belated Mother's Day gifts, since they are at an artshow in Portage for the next few weeks.

This provided an excellent opportunity for a mini Hutterite History lesson - during the 1600's Hutterites were known for their beautiful ceremics and various other crafts.
