One last flowery post ...

....before the snow flies.

One of our Angel Trumpet plants displayed a glorious show this summer! It grew bigger than any we've ever seen and produced gorgeous trumpet like flowers all summer long, much to our delight. As you can see, it covered most of the flowers planted around it; only a few purple ones peeking out.

None of our other Angel Trumpets were as big and beautiful as this one. It's place, coupled with the hot, dry summer must have created ideal conditions.

Over summer many visitors enjoyed walking around our yard to see all the flowers. One day we had a friend from Winnipeg and she was dazzled from the moment she stepped out of her car. "Wow! All those flowers! You live in paradise!" she exclaimed, stopping alongside the Angel Trumpet, right beside the driveway. "And what is this beautiful plant?"

"It's an Angel Trumpet." I answered, chuckling to myself. If it's going to be paradise, may as well have Angel Trumpets.

Our pansies, (my favourite flower) were smiling all summer as well, even after two heavy frosts. They were still bravely trying to hang on, with their tiny flowers peeking through a few inches of snow. The brave little things are just now showing signs of  wilting.

 As for man, his days are as grass;
as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
Psalm 103:15

  2. lovely! our petunias are still hanging in there. But soon the promise of Autumn temps will make it hard for them to survive. Hugs
