'Meet the Hutterites' - staged and scripted

Finally some truth about the filming of  'Meet the Hutterites'. What we knew to be true all along - that much of it was staged and scripted, is now confirmed.  Hmmmm, I guess suggesting that from the beginning, wasn't as "ludicrous" as Jeff Collins wanted us to believe.  Go to Society Matters, to read testimonies of King Ranch Colony members who appeared on this pathetic show...and much more.

Thank you, King Ranch members for speaking out about this charade. You lost focus for  a while, but hopefully this will help you get back on track.

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32

  1. I could easily tell a lot of it was staged. It was a little too convenient when the camera was in "just the right place at the right time". I really liked a lot of those people on there though and for me, I could tell they had a good heart.

It sure is a shame it wasn't more of a documentary-type show. Learning about how others live is very interesting to me and even though it seems that show was more for entertainment, I found myself studying more of how the Hutterites truly live. A mistake, perhaps, for the colony, but I've no doubt God will use it for good in His own way. Have a great weekend ~ :)

  2. I just got a chance to watch this series this week & I agree, it was definitely staged! But I would love to watch a true documentary so that I would definitely learn more about Hutterites. I have lived near Amish & Mennonites almost all my life & have been friends with some over the years, but know almost nothing about Hutterites.

  3. I loved the program even though it was "staged". Bertha was my favourite. What an amazing lady, so brave and big hearted. It was obviously difficult for her to keep her children true to the traditional Hutterite values without their father there to help.
