At Home in the Kitchen (giveaway)

No, that wouldn't be me. I mean, I'm not totally hopeless when it comes to cooking, the kitchen is just not my favourite place in the world to work. I have to say though, every summer I get a chance to try some of my culinary skills and do enjoy it for those two weeks a year. Since I work in school, I don't have a turn in the kitchen like the other women on the colony. So, spending a week cooking and then another baking is a lovely change.

Anyway, back to my reason for this post. If you're someone who spends more time in the kitchen than I do, then you just have to scoot over to At Home in the Kitchen , where my friend, Judy Walter posts the most delicious looking recipes I've ever seen. And she does step by step instructions with pictures! Perfect for someone like me! Trust me, your mouth will water just scrolling through her beautiful posts.

Here's a sample of her great recipes. Click on the link beneath the photo to go directly to the recipe. I know you'll be drooling over this blog.

OK, so I'm partial to desserts. But, look at them - could you resist choosing these? Judy doesn't do just desserts, though. There are a wide variety of foods that you'll want to add to your own recipe book. She has also published a cookbook with the same title as her blog, available at her site.

To celebrate Canada Day, Judy is giving away 2 autographed copies of her cookbook. I know you'll want this one, and you'll see why when you visit her mouth-watering blog.  If you live in Canada or in the US, you have 2 chances to enter this draw: First, leave a comment on this post and then hop on over to Judy's blog, At Home in the Kitchen and share your thoughts on her latest post. Winners will be chosen with random.org and will be announced on our blogs on July the 4th . Please add your email address when you leave a comment. Thanks for taking part in this!

Judy, thanks for sharing your delectable dishes with us and for graciously giving away two copies of your fabulous cookbook!

  10. Eileen, both your comments came through, which I had posted, but as you can see, I then took one down to avoid duplicates.

  11. I'm not sure if I'd go so far as to say I'm at home in the kitchen; maybe I would find it hard to spend day in, day out concocting dishes, but once I AM in the kitchen during my cookweek... it's the absolute best, I adore it! SO much fun to pour every bit I've got into getting good food on the table, trying new recipes, experimenting, learning new things, etc.

Cookbooks are amongst my favorite books to pour over, so this giveaway is the greatest. :)

Have you ever checked out The Pioneer Woman's recipe page? http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/ She's a definite favorite of mine, with the whole step-by-step instructions with amazing photos thing. Thing is, her recipes aren't generally practical for a hutterite kitchen (not like I'd
think Judy Walter's would be), so it's mostly an inspiration spot for me.

    Thanks for the giveaway!
